Host Hotel

Updated March 13, 2018

Renaissance HotelThe host hotel for the Emerald City Hoedown for 2018 is once again the Renaissance Seattle Hotel!

Rates for 2018 start at $153+tax per night for double occupancy.  The room block expires March 2 (or when sold out, whichever comes first).  The hotel room block has limited availability outside the three main nights of the hoedown, March 23/24/25, but some room nights are available.  If you have difficulty obtaining rooms outside the main hoedown nights, contact us at and we will work with the hotel to see how we can help.

Please note that we have expanded the room block for 2018, but we may sell out again this year.  Adding to the block and accommodating special requests are much easier if reservations are made sooner rather than later!

All hoedown events — workshops, dances, and socials, including the Thursday night Trail-In dance this year — will be held at the host hotel, so staying at the Renaissance Hotel enables you participate fully in the hoedown activities.  This is the eighth year that the Emerald City Hoedown will be at this hotel, and they host events for numerous other GLBTQ organizations throughout the year.

PLEASE NOTE: The hotel room block is now closed.  The hotel may have rooms remaining for Friday and Saturday nights, but at their regular rate rather than the reduced hoedown rate.  We suggest searching for available rooms at other nearby hotels via sites such as Trivago,, or Kayak.  There are often good quality hotels within a few blocks of the Renaissance in the $180–220 range.  We increase our room block each year to keep pace with increased interest in the hoedown.  Thank you for reserving your room early, and our apologies for any inconvenience.

The Renaissance Hotel is located at 6th and Madison in downtown Seattle, perched just above the I-5 freeway.  Fantastic views include Mt. Rainier to the south, First Hill and Capitol Hill (the gay neighborhood, walking distance away) to the east, Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains to the west, and downtown Seattle to the south, west, and north.

The hotel features an on-site restaurant (Maxwell’s) plus a coffee stand at the lobby bar.

If you will be driving to the hoedown or renting a car while you are in Seattle, a limited amount of on-site parking is available.  For attendees not staying at the hotel, on-site parking can be expensive, but affordable off-site parking is available nearby, and public transit options are also convenient.  For recommenations on parking options, visit this page.
