Host Hotel

Updated March 16, 2014

Renaissance HotelThe host hotel for the Emerald City Hoedown for 2014 is once again the Renaissance Seattle Hotel!

Rates for 2014 start at $129+tax per night for double occupancy.  The room block expires March 7.  (The hotel room block has limited availability outside the two main nights of the hoedown, March 28 and 29, but some room nights are available.  If you have difficulty obtaining rooms outside the main hoedown nights, contact us at and we will work with the hotel if we can.)

All hoedown events — workshops, dances, and socials — will be held at the host hotel, so staying at the Renaissance Hotel enables you participate fully in the hoedown activities.  This is the fourth year that the Emerald City Hoedown will be at this hotel, and they host events for numerous other GLBTQ organizations throughout the year.

The room block has expired.  The hoedown weekend is also the Emerlad City Comicon, which is growing in size each year, so hotel rooms at the Renaissance or other area hotels may be in short supply throughout the area if you register after the room block closes.  If the hotel does not have any rooms available at a suitable rate, try posting to the Emerald City Hoedown Facebook page to look for a roommate.

The Renaissance Hotel is located at 6th and Madison in downtown Seattle, perched just above the I-5 freeway.  Fantastic views include Mt. Rainier to the south, First Hill and Capitol Hill (the gay neighborhood, walking distance away) to the east, Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains to the west, and downtown Seattle to the south, west, and north.

The hotel features two on-site restaurants plus a coffee stand at the lobby bar.  An on-site fitness center is available on the top floor (with great views!).

If you will be driving to the hoedown or renting a car while you are in Seattle, a limited amount of on-site parking is available.  For attendees not staying at the hotel, on-site parking can be expensive, but affordable off-site parking is available nearby, and public transit options are also convenient.  For recommenations on parking options, visit this page.
