Up to Three Dance Rooms Each Night!

Updated January 21, 2013.

 Country Couples

Our largest dance room each night will be the beautiful Madison Ballroom on the hotel’s 2nd floor, with floor-to-ceiling windows on one wall.

Friday and Saturday nights, this is where you will find all your favorite Two-Steps, plus Waltz, country West Coast Swing, faster East Coast Swing, Night Club, Shadow, Triple Two (Shuffle), and even a bit of Polka and Cha Cha.  We will also have a smattering of the most popular line dances (just a couple an hour; hit the Line Dance room for all your favorites).  Opening Ceremonies and team exhibitions will also be held here.

On Sunday night, we will only have a single dance room for all our country couples, swing, and line dancing, so the mix will be a bit different that night from Friday and Saturday.

On Thursday night (at Century Ballroom), the West Hall will be country couples and swing dancing; all line dancing will be in the East Hall that night.

 Line Dancing

On Friday and Saturday nights, half of the Courtyard Ballroom on the hotel’s lower level will be a dedicated line dance room, playing all your favorites and your special requests.  This room will open after the Opening Ceremonies on Friday (roughly 9:00 pm) and run until about 1:00 am.  Die-hard line dancers can keep going later, down here on the lowest level of the hotel.  Some line dances will also be played in the Madison Ballroom, but generally only the most popular, best known ones.  (In particular, any dances taught during the weekend will probably only be played in the Line Dance room.)

Rain Country has many line dances in our active repertoire, but there are bound to be favorites that you have.  Please drop us a line and ask us to have your favorite line dance available — we need the name of the dance, the name of the song, and the name of the artist in order to be sure we have the right music.

For those of you who want to pop between the Country Couples and Line Dance rooms, we will have computer displays (courtesy of Hagan Ko) showing what line dances have been played and are coming up next, so you can be there in time for your favorite. Watch the line up on your smart phone at www.haganlinedance.com

On Thursday night (at Century Ballroom), the East Hall will be all line dancing.  Friday and Saturday nights, line dancing will be in the Courtyard Ballroom on the lower level. On Sunday, line dancing will be integrated into the evening dance.

 West Coast Swing (Etc.)

On Friday and Saturday nights, the other half of the Courtyard Ballroom on the hotel’s lower level will be a dedicated West Coast Swing (etc.) room — West Coast, East Coast, swing-influenced Night Club Two-Step (QQS), Cha Cha, Lindy, and a smattering of other dances.  Expect the music to be most pop, blues, Big Band, etc., with very little country.  This room will open after the Opening Ceremonies on Friday (roughly 9:00 pm) and run until about 1:00 am; after that, we have a late night DJ who will keep the music coming as late as you want to stay up dancing.

On Thursday night (at Century Ballroom), swing dancing will be integrated into the country couples dancing in the West Hall.  On Sunday, swing dancing will be integrated into the evening dance.
